Cybernetica

Cybernetica AS is an internationally evaluated private research and development institution established in 1997. Cybernetica’s objective is to develop knowledge-intensive products and services that are competitive on the global market in the fields of information security, information systems, and maritime communication systems. Their expertise covers the full software development process: preliminary, business, and systems analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Cybernetica’s strength lies in developing complex information systems that require a high level of information security. Cybernetica has participated in several critical digitalisation reforms and projects in Estonia, including the development of the Digital Signatures Act (2002), piloting the Estonian ID card, developing the secure data exchange platform X-Road (2001), and creating the Internet voting solution (2005). Cybernetica develops e-governance, information security, and data exchange solutions in Estonia, Europe, and also in the United States, Japan, Namibia, and Ukraine.

Within the ERCDI infrastructure, Cybernetica is responsible for analysing and developing the technical solution for E-Varamu. They also participate in creating data tools for researchers.
