Today, representatives of the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and the Estonian Research Council visited the Estonian Literary Museum, the lead institution of the Estonian Research and Cultural Data Infrastructure (ERCDI), to learn more about the infrastructure’s recent developments, services, and future plans.
Director Piret Voolaid introduced the Estonian Literary Museum to the guests. ERCDI lead Mari Väina gave an overview of the progress made in integrating ETKAD into a coherent ecosystem of services and outlined both the challenges and achievements of this process. Particular attention was given to the infrastructure’s ongoing development work: Kairit Peekman and Neeme Reest from Cybernetica AS presented the development of the new version of the E-varamu portal; Jaan Sokk from the Estonian Literary Museum outlined the current development work and plans of the HUM Data Lab; and Kadri Vider briefly introduced the activities of the European research infrastructure DARIAH.
Key topics of discussion included how ERCDI could become more closely integrated into the the European research and digital infrastructure landscape, how collaboration between partners could be strengthened, and how services could be developed in line with users’ actual needs.
We thank the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research and the Estonian Research Council for a productive meeting, thoughtful questions, and valuable feedback!
