The HUMAL environment enables humanities researchers to open, run, test, and share data-driven research projects together with their code, data, workflow descriptions (notebooks), and analysis environment.

How to use the service?
Teenus on arendamisel. Kasutaja loob või toob HUMALi keskkonda olemasoleva uurimisprojekti, mille aluseks on GitHubis, Colabis, Jupyteris või kohalikus arvutis loodud töövoog. Projektis kirjeldatakse selgelt uurimisküsimusi, andmeallikaid, käivitamise järjekorda, kasutatavad notebook’e ja skripte, väljundeid ning teadaolevad piiranguid. Keskkond võimaldab projekti käivitada ja jagada ning valmistada seda vajaduse korral ette HUMALi teiste teenuste kaudu avaldamiseks.

Is the service free to use?
Currently still in the planning stage. The final access model will be determined during MVP testing.
Connected services of ERCDI
Renku forms the workflow execution and sharing layer of HUMAL. Data may come from E-varamu, datasets published through DataDOI, Zenodo, GitHub, or other repositories and data sources. Workflow Publisher helps prepare a project created in Renku or another environment for publication, while the HUMAL Registry enables published workflows and datasets to be discovered and evaluated. HUMAL does not replace E-varamu, DataDOI, or other repositories, but creates the connections between them that are needed for research.
