TaDiRah vocabulary

The TADIRAH keywords help to describe the activities, methods, and processes used in workflows.
Use these keywords to describe both the workflow as a whole and its individual steps.

TADIRAH is an international taxonomy of digital humanities research activities that enables the description of work processes, methods, and activities in a more consistent manner. It is a community-based initiative aimed at supporting the visibility and clearer description of work in the digital humanities. The Estonian translation was completed in 2025 and is available exclusively on the ETKAD website.

The purpose of this page is to help you choose keywords that are as accurate as possible and reflect what you actually do in your work process.

How to use the keywords?

  • For the desribing the whole workflow, pick 3-8 keywords
  • Pick 1–3 keywords for each step.
  • Try to use precise and meaningful keywords.
  • Choose keywords based on what you’re doing at this stage, not just on the topic or dataset you’re working with.
  • The general keywords for the workflow and the keywords for individual stages do not have to be the same.

Recommendation: If you are unsure which keyword to choose, opt for the term that most specifically describes your activity.
