Workflow Publisher is a tool under development that helps researchers prepare an existing notebook or code repository for publication and reuse. The tool analyses project files and metadata and draws attention to missing or unclear documentation, such as data sources, citation guidance, usage rights, software dependencies, and the use of artificial intelligence, OCR, or machine translation. Based on this, it can generate a human-readable workflow description, a machine-readable research object package, a workflow relationship diagram, a publication-readiness report, and a draft HUMAL Registry entry. The tool can also help prepare a dataset or other research object for publication in DataDOI or Zenodo, but does not replace these repositories. The aim is to make good research documentation and publication practices as self-service as possible, without requiring extensive individual expert support for every project.
