The International Open Access Week seminar day, \u201cWho Pays and Who Is Responsible for Open Knowledge?\u201d, will take place on 22 October in the conference hall of the University of Tartu Library. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone is invited to listen to presentations on the costs of creating, sharing and preserving knowledge, and to discuss how responsibility and benefits are shared among researchers, universities, the state, publishers and society. Throughout the day, Estonian and international experts will address open-access publishing practices and funding, research data management, European Union requirements, research visibility and the digital transformation of the humanities. In the hackathon following the presentations, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the University of Tartu\u2019s open science policy. The day will also include practical workshops on documenting research processes in the humanities and on bibliometrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HUM data lab<\/a> organizes a workshop \"Making the Research Process Visible: Using and Documenting Workflows\" where we will explore the data-intensive research workflows published in the workflow collection<\/a> HUM Data Lab\u2019s collection and discuss what makes a workflow clear and reusable. During the workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to sketch out the workflow of their own research project. The workshop is primarily intended for doctoral students in the humanities and social sciences, but is also suitable for master\u2019s students and practicing researchers whose work involves multiple stages of data collection, processing, or analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
