The Translation Database contains data on literary translations into Estonian published as books or in periodicals in the 1850\u20132010 period. <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Estonian Translation Database (ETD)<\/a><\/em><\/strong> has been realised within the Translation in History: Texts, Agents, Institutions and Practices<\/em> research project<\/a>, which aims to write the history of translation in Estonia from the mid-19th century onwards. It is a platform specifically tailored by the IT specialists at Tallinn University\u2019s Academic Library  to the research needs of the project, while also considering other possible current and future applications. It includes metadata related to literary translations into Estonian that have been published as standalone books, in collections of translations, and in periodicals from 1850 to 2010. Additionally, it contains data on reviews of translated fiction. Upon completion, the database will include an estimated total of around 70,000 items. The ETD has been compiled based on the Estonian National Bibliography database of printed books, printed bibliographies, and the analytical card catalogues created by the Archival Library of the Estonian Literary Museum.
